My buddy's dad bought an old Victor safe at an auction, it was open when he bought it, but someone closed it before he picked it up an not one knew the combination. Is there a way to get the combination from the serial numbers without calling a locksmith?

I don't know about the combination but have heard that some of the old safes didn't have spring loaded tumblers. So if is of that vintage it can just be turned upside down and the door will open. Worth a try.

Don"t do it this way,a businessman in town bought an older government bldg that housed a bank in the past,in the basmt was a walk-in safe,bomb proof,he thought it was locked,brought in a welder with a cutting torch and after the damage was done they realized all they had to do was give the handle a good tug and the 7ft door steeldoor popped open. Nice meteal shelving inside anyway.Dan
