Some time back there was a discussion here about using simple green for carb cleaner. I was a skeptic but was intrigued by not having to keep cleaner around for the very few times I use it. So today I tried it and it worked pretty good. I put a gallon bean can on the wood stove in the shop and had the water just steaming. Put in 1/2 cup simple green and let the carb perk in there for 45 minutes. When it came out the grease that was left was soft and wiped right off. Use compressed air to blow out the insides. I was impressed but that doesn't take too much.

Just another example of what you can learn here.

It's a household cleaner that comes in a gallon jug. Walmart, Dollar stores etc. Back in that section that men don't go too often.

Thanks for the tip. How did the carb work once you installed it?
