I just bought a 5700 watt generator (7100 surge) to replace the 4000 watt one I sold my brother. The new one is a Powermate that has a 10hp Yamaha engine. I didn't know (had never seen one) Yamaha made small engines for this application - anyone have experiance with them?


I figured they saw how much money Honda makes with them and figured they'd jump in too. We've had decent experiances with the Subaru powered generators at work.

You asked the same question on the other forum. Yamaha makes a full range of small power equipment. Look on the internet. Dave

I had a generator a while back that was labeled Homelite. It was identical to a Yamaha I saw later but I don't know who was the actual engine-maker.
