OT TRUCK HEATER NO WORKEEEEY

On this IHC Paystar 5000. The heater isn't putting out any heat.
The heater is under the passenger seat.
There are two hoses going to the heater--one is warm to the touch.
The fan is working.
Reached under the seat as best as I could--appears that a mouse or more has hauled some insulation stuff in there.
Any suggestions ????

Heaters can be come air bound.Water wont circulate.

Take off the seat. (it bolts on)that will open up the complete heater compartment. look for trash, air filter plugged, (just in front of the heater core), a/c bypass door froze open. Look at the fans, do both run?
Pretty easy to figure out, if you look.

Maybe somebody used stop leak like Bars Leak on it. They are real good at stopping up the flow. Tom

The unit also has door that swings back and forth from full hot to cold. It is run by electric motors. on the fleet that I maintain the motor is usually burned up or trash has gotten in there to prevent the door from operating.(Hence rats nest.) take the top off of the unit to check out the entire operation. Rick

I bet it is the water valve.It might even have a regular plumers valve or 2 on it to shut the water off on the motor.If its not that,its the valve that lets hot water circulate through the heater core.

If only one hose is warm,water ain't flowin,should be a valve(cable operated or elec/vacuum)operated that controls water flow,Could be in heater case or on firewall or even inline on hose.

As to the mouse nest,it will come out,try to find the biggest"mouse access hole"and apply shop vac,may help to poke around with something like a small hose or such to break it up,NOT a metal rod or such,that could hole heater core or damage wiring.
