I too have joined the LED flashlite world with a 5w LED, that's right a 5w on a AA battery Mag-Lite mini-mag. The LED is a TerraLux ministar extreme model #TLE-5EX, $25. The variable focus is retained. Comes with a new reflector. The LED has two lite beams at the same time. A wide angle 15ft diameter for night walking and a spot beam. I can stand on the back porch and see my shop doors 200ft away although the spot beam is getting weak at that distance. About 100ft is a good distance for this LED. You can not look into the LED lite as it hurts the eyes so it also has a tatical use rating for LE use. Well worth the $25 as when I want to use a flashlight, I wanna see brite lite and this fills that requirement very well. Another item I added was a end cap push-button switch with a strap. Well worth the $3.95 as the switch is heavy duty made, TeraLux M# TSC-1. I bought another brand of end cap push switch and it's not going to last long as it's cheap made. My Mag-Lite rechargeable has the halogen bulbs. That was a noticeable improvement. I also bought some lithium 1.5v AA battery's, the bunny, and will see how they hold up VS the Duracell photo grade lead acid battery's. They also had Duracell AA 2500ah recharables for $10 for a pack of four. I'll see how they last. I've given up on the standard Mag-Lite "D" size with recharable battery's as the lite is very dim when comparred too my Mag-Lite halogen rechargeable and I can't find decent lasting recharable "D" size 10000ah battery's. Out of 12 "D" size recharable battery's. I've had four failures in one year and the others are not far behind. So I'm down to four flashlites, 2 Mag-Lite rechareables and two Mag-Lite mini-mag AA with LED and I've never been more pleased. T_Bone
