anyone know where I can find information on an ATD-5570 multimeter? I searched the net yesterday and couldn't find any information. I"m thinking of buying this one from National Auto Parts but can't find any info on it.

Alternatively, if anyone could recommend any other. Quality wise, to compare it to an impact wrench, I'd be looking for an IR231 impact.

I have used a Simpson 260 multimeter for years and even though there are some really super digital meters out there I still like my 260. You pay some buck for them but they are good. Just my 2 cents.

Don't know what meter you are talking about here but if it's a general purpose one, I have been using the Sperry brand myself for a few years now. $20 to $25 at Lowe's and most other dealers but good quality for the cheap price. ACV/DCV/DCmA/Ohms. Good general use meter that works well and takes a standard 9 volt battery.

Best I can give you on this one without saying "go look at the Simpson line and paying top $$$ for the rolls royce meters".

The DMM I refered to was an UEI model 264b. $50 with holster at Johnstone Supply. In the original post, the writer mentioned looking at a meter from an auto parts/tool supplier. If you intend to use a meter at any time for any thing more than 120/240vac 1 phase or 3 phase, make certain that the meter is rated for 600v minimum, that the leads are rated for 1000v, and that, if used in a commercial setting, that the warranty is valid for commercial use. Radio Shack is the king of that tactic and say so on the label on the back of the meter.
