I'm an amateur offroad racer and am interested in getting an airbottle jack. Has anyone ever used these with CO2 instead of a compressor? I have onboard CO2 for quick tire fills and to reseat lost beads and would like to use it for the airjack as well. ONly problem I see is that the CO2 I can only carry upto 150 psi and some air jacks (for 12 tons) go to 200 psi. If all I need is about 3 tons lift power, do you think that 150 psi would work?
Thanks - I don't know where else to ask.
Mike

I agree with FRED. Nitrogen isn't corrosive to wiring or other metal like CO2 is. You might also try a SCUBA tank. There are adapters already made for doing just that and they hold about 100 cubic feet of air. Cheaper to fill too.

He's using co2 because its available in liquid form in a bottle without a siphon tube. Liquid co2 in a 20 pound bottle will fill at least 3 DOZEN tires while a 20 lb bottle of nitrogen might fill TWO flat tires.
