Anyone have or have seen one of these? Any idea what years they might have made them,or what the marketing strategy might have been? I have one that works and it's kind of neat, but I can't imagine why someone might have bought one over a gas,or even electric model. Thanks,Mark

Hi Mark,
My friend has one of those saws. We have never hooked it up, but based on the amount of air consumed by much smaller air tools, I think it would take a lot of compressor to run it...Al English

Mark, I've seen one, and for the time it was built, was definitely lighter than a gas powered one. I'm thinking tree trimming, where the plus would of been quieter than the gas. Also I feel the old saws were more tempermental, and starting one hanging in a tree wasn't fun, easier to pick up and pull the trigger. As for handles, before OSHA, most handles were thinner, and had less of a bulky toy look as they do now. John Ne.

Thanks Guys. While not very glamorous,I'll go with the tree trimming ideas:) It's certainly been a conversation piece sitting around the shop the last couple of weeks. Mark

Mining and tunneling operations, where there is danger of explosive gas iin the atmousphere and a huge supply of compressed air.
Underwater operation, can you think of a way to run an electric or gas sawe there?
Mall also made hydraulic driven chain saws driven off a tractor hydro system.

I have seen them used [years ago] by tree trimmers. Don't know if it was a weight ,heat or other factor. Soppose truck was running for lift so they had compressor too. Hav seen some saws at equpiment sale along too. EPB

I hadn't thought of this. It's kind of hard to get a hold of though for out of position work like that (small handle and a small handle coming out of the top like a side handle on an electric drill)but no more than a gas saw I guess. To me the thing that makes it most intresting is the brand- Remington Arms. Thanks,Mark

Pneumatic saws are often used indoors in sawmills for cutting hang-ups in machinery where the stink of burnt 2stroke oil and the noise of a 2 stroke engine would be objectionable.
