I was looking at some small diesel generators figuring I had plenty of diesel around the place. They said they run on "light diesel oil". Is that the same as 1K or closer to #1 grade? (road grade)

Would it be any cheaper in the long run than the gas generator?

Unless it's a real Yanmar diesel, your bargain China diesel is no bargain. That said some of the Changfa Chinese stuff is of almost acceptable quality.

Not going to say more than I know, but my guess is that it is likely made in China. Under that assumption, my understanding is that they do not have the, or maybe even any, same clean air standards as us. I would think ANY of the diesel we buy would be light diesel by their standards, I am thinking back to some of the high sulfur stuff that used to actually sting my eyes like we used to run back in the 70's. Just my guess. DOUG
