Put a little dish soap on the glass and then wipe with a towel. When you breath on it the soap will dull a little but not fog up. works pretty good.

I spent the last 12 Years of my working life as a Union Carpenter for a Construction & Repair Co. doing refuel outages in a Nuclear Power House and I picked up on a practice I saw many Millwrights and Pipe Fitters useing, not all of them but some I watched . Instad of useing a Welding Helmet.face shield they instead had a Flat Panel about 8"X12" with a Handle and a Dark Glass installed in the Panel to look thru. I went Home and made myself one and now unless I have to be able to use my left hand to hold something while welding I usually hold this Face Shield in my left Hand and view my welding work thru the dark Glass and it works very well. Surprise, when I bought my Lincoln 100 Wire,Flux Core Welder a Face hield of this same basic design came with it. I like to use the Face Shield as I have to wear tri-focal Glasses to see and with a full Welding Helmet even with a large view glass my vision is limited.

Look for a larger hood that's farther from your face so the air can circulate. Works while sandblasting.

Hi Jhill,

I use a Huntman fiber hood with all glass lens and flip it upside down on top of my last weld while waiting for the next weld. The fiber hood doesn't retain the cold like other hoods made of fiberglass and such. You only have to keep the hood warmer than the dew point to keep it from fogging.

Try putting shaving cream on the lens and polishing off with paper towel. It works on your fogging mirror in the bathroom and it may work on your helmet.

Had the same problem with oxyacetylene goggles in the summer. Tried what divers do, spit on then lens then wiped it off with my kerchief, works on eyeglasses that fog up during snow removal too. Guess its not real sanitary, but if you are the only one using the helmet shouldn't make a difference. Happy Holidays, Billy

I was in a bar the other day and the bartender held one of the glasses up and looked for water spots. She then spit on a rag and wiped the water spot off the drinking glass. She was probably trying to keep it from fogging up once the cold beer hit it.

It's true, it happened.

Don't buy beer on draft only in the bottle.

I've had that problem. Maybe some anti-fog would help. Let your helmet stay cold. I've tried warming my helmet up but it makes it fog up worse. It is a frustrating problem. Dave
