I am not going to tell most of us anything we don't already know, but we should be thankful that the vast majority of everyone here are interested in helping each other. As I have posted before, I am sure some of are aware that my full time job is a Rural Mail Carrier. Having said that, I am also very active on a postal forum board. I don't even like to be associated with some of the "trolls" who will try to grab the name you have posted a message and mispell it and flame what has been posted. We went thru arbitration for our contact, and the arbitrator did not address some of the major issues. I AM NOT one to whine, but one of the big ones is what we get paid to use our vehicle to deliver the mail. I won't get into the fact that we are several thousand dollars a year behind the other unions in the postal service, but it would sure be nice to get enough money to keep my route car running without having to dig deep into my pockets to do it. IRS allowance is 48.5 cents per mile, we get paid 51 cents. We have occasionally dropped below the IRS allowance. Anybody think that a car running a mail route needs less maintainance than one running down the highway? We get a very small mileage adjustment, how does 3 cents a mile sound? They give us 2 more smaller adjustments after that, but not even the 3 cents more per year. Sorry I am getting off subject of being thankful for this board. DOUG

It is the large picture that El Toro has in this thread that creates the overshoot on the thread. Do not use the expand but click each posting and it will come out right except for El Toro's picture.

You can put the browser(OPERA)on and it will stay on the screen when you click on(fit to width)on the tool bar.CENTAUR

Stan, Opera is a program you would have to download and install. It is a browser just like Internet Explorer and Firefox.

mail carrier at this household also some 15 years. What have learne in that time as far as vehicles go,have had much better durability in the dodge product line by far over the chevy stuff. 190000 thousand on currwnt chey product and really been taking dollars to kep it running compared to the dodge produt line. most of dodges go to two hundred thousand without much input. in fact the one dodge I sold at 300000 thousand and is still on mail route today for another couple. Just what we learned,time for the tire chain here again looks like. Alos hareder to get bench seat vehicles,although building the steering wheel kits has been much better route. It all just goes with the job like anything else in life. I just hope your postmaster has common sense head on him or her and take your life ahead of the junk mail as far as when its those total white out/drift out days. good luck

I have learned a lot from the people on this board although I hold you all to blame for my going out and buying a Farmall when I don't even have a farm. I'm tired of answering,"What the heck did you buy a tractor for?"

In the '80s we used to get $2.50 a day to do a city route if no PO Jeep was available. Park and walk plus PP if there was any.

I looked into a delivery job about ten years ago. It amounted to 165-70 mile round trip with a lay over of about two hrs. before starting back. The money just wasnt there. It was so much per mile and you made a decent wage from it but not enuf to replace your vehichle or make major repairs.

This is a good board. I try to help people solve their problems or tell them what I did/do in their situation and let them take it from there.

I have said in another forum on this board today that Kim and Chris, need and deserve a pat on the back for all they do to keep this all running.

Having said that, I also think all the people who use this board need one too. For being so helpful to others and for keeping it cival and not flaming others.

I read another forum and while they are all very helpful they use bad language and unrest seems to pop up quite often.

Hi Jon, I found the problem I think on posting pictures. I had to get a picture web site while on Verizon Broadband and it will post. I have a log on about 100 picture web sites all retreived when using AOL. Any ideas on how to make them work on here. Hal

Looks like you got it to post just fine but just need to resize it. For resizing just need to add a bit more code. Just add height=480 to the end. The number will vary for what size you want, and the height/width ratio will automaticly adjust.

The code will look something like this

This is in classic view and with a <> at the ends.

I haven't played with Modern enough

It is rather hidden. How many of us scroll all the way to the bottom of the page?

Usually about Christams/New Years time someone starts up a thread saying the made their yearly donation, then everyone jumps on board.
