H tractor stuck in 5th gear

My 1944 H is stuck in 5th gear and I am wondering if there is a way of fixing it without taking the upper plate off. It will shift into other gears but at the same time it stays in 5th. Being in two gears at the same time will not allow it to move. The oil fill hole is in the area and is large enough to reach through and see the gears but not the 5th gear. I need information on a schematic or how to fix the situation.

Remove the pin that holds in the gear shift lever and remove the gear shift. Use a large screwdriver or bar and aline the shifter rails. Check the end of the gear shift, it should be square, not rounded. An easy fix, just weld it up and make it square again.
