How come when I post a classified ad and have to go back to make a correction, and use the "back" button, the text of the ad is all gone? I forgot to mark "forsale or wanted" and when I go back its all gone. Not a big deal, just wondering if its something I'm doing wrong.

After you make up a post you click on "post message"
this will let you see it before it is really posted. (Proof Reading). If you want to make a change to that before you "Submit" you just click on the other little button at the bottom that says "return to form". That will let you go back and make changes. If you hit your back button you will loose everything.

Hi redtom,

I always do what slowpoke recommended---highlight and copy. Even when I don't have to go back to edit, sometimes, especially at a time of day when there's a lot of internet traffic, the screen will time out before moving on to the next one. If you get into the habit of copying your text you can do it in seconds, then you'll never lose what you've typed.

Also, if I'm going to post a lengthy message or reply (which for me means usually), I'll minimize this screen and open Word, or the text editor of MS Works to work in. The spell check is a definite bonus, and working on a full screen lets me see what I've already said without having to scroll up and down in this little box. After I copy and paste here, the original still exists in case something goes wrong during posting. Of course it's still in the clipboard from being copied, but on a few things, I'm still a belt and suspenders kind of guy. My first computer, in 1983, would make as much work disappear as you cared to do at one sitting. Since it was a slow and awkward system, and saving to disk was not a quick process, sometimes quite a lot of work would end up in the cyber void. I've been overcautious about saving work ever since.

All the best, Stan

I would like to know too. I have had to retype many times.

Happens to me frequently, too. I try to remember to highlight and copy with the edit function. Then if it's gone I can replace it.
