The Kawasakie cordless drill(pardon the spelling) from Costco last summer(07) is now involved in a recall. Evidently some of the chargers cause batteries to explode. They are sending me a new charger. The Dewalt portable tools I have are better than any of the other portable tools I have. Good luck, dt

Check the ads in yesterday's paper. It looks like the dumping action on regular cordless battery units has begun. Several manufacturers already have lithium ion battery units on the market and DeWalt is coming out with a line of LI battery units in January. Lowes and Home Depot both have specials on cordless; one of them has a Ryobi 12 volt for only $20.

Yeah,

Home Depot has an eighteen volt four tool package deal that normally sells for $200+ for $50 today and tomorrow, maybe Sunday too. Go get it. You can't get four batteries for that price. Check their website for more details.

Not made by the Kawasaki motorcycle company as one would think. Different spelling, made in China.

I had one, I think it was 14 volt. It only lasted about 2 weeks and stripped the drive gears out of it. It was on sale at Sam's Club "I think about $49
You get what you pay for.

"Kawasaki"
Several reviews online at NorthernTool.com,which sells them.Apparently"made/imported" by AllTrade, which makes/sells a "fair"line of inexpensive import tools.I have several AllTrade Air tools bought thru Shopko many yrs back,I would rate them as adequate for homeowner/hobbyist use.Somewhat better than Cummins/Harbor Freight/Homier etc,but still far from "Pro" quality.
