Hydraulic Cylinder Settles

The last job I used my cherry picker for was a little too much for it. It now settles gradually. There are no external leaks. What is likely the problem? The unit is about two years old and otherwise in excellent condition. Did I blow an o-ring or something?

The internal seals on the piston are most likely your problem. When you say cherry picker, do you mean manual engine hoist? or is it a cherry picker with a powered hydraulic system? dave

It is a manual engine hoist. "Jack" lifts on the down stroke.

Most likely blew the o-ring/seal on the internal piston. Depending on what it is/who made it it could be a simple fix or a real pain in the #$$ if its a cheap one.
