what is this tool??pvc pipe bender

I have this tool I found in my shed, I probably got it from an auction, any idea what it is? I was told a pvc pipe bender, it looks like it could be, ,,

propane gas hook up in the handle, and heating elements in the body???

It's for joining the connectors on the yellow plastic gas line used almost everywhere these days. You heat it up with a propane torch and it forms the plastic around the fitting.. Seen it used when the guy ran the lines for our propane tank.

If it doesn't have a direct flame inside it might be for bending PVC. I've seen something like that before. It might also be for butting ends together and welding them. Dave

pvc pipe burns under direct flame. No way on the pvc pipe. More than likely used to heat up copper or cast pipe to soldier a flange on it.
