I was in a store tonight and saw a pack of Black Hawk ratchet wrenches for about $50. When I picked them up they said TAIWAN. I couldn't believe it. I always thought they were a quality USA hand tool?

The whole thing is sad. Good quality tools being built as cheap imports. I didn't buy them.

Blackhawk used to be made in the USA. However, as part of the Stanley group, the line is now produced mostly in Taiwan. There are alot of sets and items out there though that you can find on Ebay and other places that are the last of the US made stuff that's about 10 years old. Carquest and other Auto Parts stores used to carry the Blackhawk line but, nobody in my area still does. Mac still sells some Blackhawk items since they are also part of the Stanley works but, it's Taiwan made as well. There are actually few US Made hand tool companies left.

Blackhawk replaced the New Britain name back in the seventies at the Napa stores. Nowadays the Napa stores sell Napa brand (made in U.S.A.) But I believe their Evercrafts are Chinese.

THEY USED TO BE- I have a 12 inch 3/8 drive rathchet thats about 30 years old and has outlasted craftsman ratchets, very comfortable ratchet.

They DON'T make anything like they used to.

Forget them now. Boycott their goods.
