I recently bought an OLD metal lathe and am trying to identify it's maker and vintage. The current consensus is that it was made between 1871 and 1900 but no one can identify the manufacturer.

I've posted pictures of it on my website. If anyone has any information about the lathe I'd like to hear from you.

Thanks to all who replied. It appears that the lathe is a Shepards, made in Cincinnati.

Check with C.H.Wendel at Gas Engine Magazine he is in the process of gathering data for a book on old machine tools
