Just wondering if anyone has any experience with these. Not talking about the ten dollar kits from Autozone or similar, but the 100 to 150 dollar kits with the UV light, vacuum pump, dremel and bit, proper bridge, etc. Have dropped comprehensive on my mail route car and the rest of my older vehicles. Don"t need a chip fix very often, maybe one a year on average, sometimes can have two in a week if the county goes stirring up the chip rock. Just can"t see spending what the local glass shop wants if I can do it myself, after about 3 repairs I would be ahead of the game, IF the 150 dollar kit works good. Thanks, DOUG

I make 3-4 repairs per year. I've been using a cheap repair kit with pro repair filler ( 1oz)that was purchased on ebay for about $25.00 . My repairs are as good as I paid $30 ea before. Its hard for me to repair cracks but chips take about 15-20 min. and come out good/clear. Once you learn to use heat you can work the resin in the bullseye or star. Its well worth doing your own repair.

A guy used to live around here had something about like that for about the same reason as you. He would fix for a few neighbors, "just to keep in practice" and help cover the cost of the epoxy or whatever he had to replace. Seen him fix some pretty nasty looking chips.
