Hi Tim, As Nathanial stated, 16ga is very easy to hand form. The best looking hand made "collar" is made by rolling over a piece of pipe (a lite pole is handy). Always under roll (larger diameter, 10" or so) light gauge metal as it forms best. Roll more than what's required for the circle as the first couple inchs will be flat, even if using slip/power rolls. Another trick is to weld the joint then round form the 2" with a wooden/deadblow hammer over a smaller diameter pipe as not too waste material. On a slip over joint, make the collar 7-7/8" OD. With a collar lenght of 3" there won't be but very little joint leakage at this diameter and almost no leakage if the over pipe bottoms on the flat deck. Subtract the thickness of the collar metal when figuring S.O. (stretch out or cut length) for a OD collar. A good rule of thumb is to attach/weld the collar to a piece of square/round plate then weld the square/plate collar to the deck. Skip welding, 1 on 3, should be enough. Do NOT join the oposing welds on a 90 cornner as this will cause the deck to crack at that point as it introduces stress on the flat deck metal. T_Bone
