Lincoln DC250 with Wisconsin V4

The Wisconsin VF4D engine on Lincoln DC 250 AS has a cracked cylinder. Have another MVF4D engine military surplus with clutch on it. Wondering if anyone had one apart or switched engines knowing if crankshaft is different or will it fit to welder okay? Found a manual for it on Lincoln site but it doesn't really show exactly how armature couples to engine crankshaft. Thanks.

Crank is tapered. Why not use cylinders off the MVH4D as they are interchangeable?? Cylinders unbolt from crankcase.. Gaskets are still available..... ...

The wisconsin with the clutch has a different crank than the one that is direct coupled to the welder. The end is different to fit the clutch. You could leave the clutch on it and probally couple it to the welder.

Yeah I sent the spec numbers off both engines and serial numbers off tags to Wisconsin, wisconsinmotors.com They said cranks and rods are different and not interchangeable but didn't say why if one is tapered or what. Already had clutch off the MVF4D and seen it's straight keyed shaft but no one can tell me if one on welder is tapered or straight. Armature hub is bolted to a engine hub and fan so might can just fab another hub too. Just have to take it apart and see since no one seems to know exactly on one this old. The military one is already rebuilt still on the crate.
