My wife gave me a pair of Sears binoculars in 1979 that never were right, so I finally gave them away. Last week I went to the Harbor Freight parking lot sale and bought a pair of 10X50 binoculars on sale for $17.34 (figuring that I couldn't lose more than $17.34 + tax). Took them along on a scenic drive today - and they work just great; much better than my old pair from Sears. Nice to luck out once in awhile.

I bought a small set at one of those sales for hunting, cost about $10. What I found is that with cheap binoculars, I can't seem to line the two images up. My left eye is dominant over my right. I bought a pair of $200 Nikons and don't have that problem anymore. Even some of the $50 ones are impossible for me to use.

I thought that Bushnell was good also but then I went to the sporting goods store and got a pair of Nikons. What a difference!

Years ago, my father-in-law got a pair of binocs at the local hardware for about $25. ASked to borrow them for an astronomy class that I was taking. He bought me another pair same price. They are cheap, no name, and great. 7.50x7, good for hunting, if a bit heavy, but wonderful optics. Love' em. Sometimes you get good cheap.
