6 Volt on 53 Ford Jubille was hooked up backwards or negative to ground. Gauges are stuck and Generator appears not to be charging. She does start when properly connected with charged battery. Seem to remember a reverse pollarization technique. What is it and have i done any damage? Thank you .

The NAA is a B circuit charge system.. NOT LIKE the 8n.

Polarize by touching BAT lug to FLD lug.

Take a jumper wire and momentarily touch the BAT lug and the ARM or GEN lug. This will polarize the generator.

the 8n used an A-circuit charge system.. you did indeed polarize BATt to ARM/GEN.

The NAA used a B-circuit charge system.. you polarize BAT to FLD.

You may want to post on the 8N site. Lots of Jubilee guys over there.
