Anyone have any experience with this bender? I'm thinking about purchasing one to make a go-cart frame for the kids and racks for my ATV. How tight of a radius can I bend with say 3/4 or 1 " pipe?

Scott, I bought one to bend 1 1/4 pipe to make hip huggers to lift downer cows. I mass produce them and have had no problems. They bend a pretty tight radius. On the cow lifters I have to make 3 bends to get it wide enough to go around the hip bones. Later

Had one for 5 years now, use it probably once a year. Payed for itself by the second time I used it. I've been planning on building a simple hydraulic jack operated exhaust tubing bender, after you go to the muffler shop 3 or 4 times and have to do some a** kissing to get a small piece of pipe bent, it sure would come in handy.

In all honesty, if you're not planning on buying a top end Greenlee or Enerpac, don't waste your money. You can buy weld fittings from any pipe supplier in 22.5, 45, 60, 75 and 90 degree angles in long and short radious for little of nothing compared to the cost of the bender that not that good.

If you want sweep (very long radious) bends, go to an electrical supplier and get the pre-made sch. 40 or EMT sweeps.

Either way you get a nice perfect bend that will save you more time, money and effort than you can imagine. I have a big old Reed bender that I added an electric/hydraulic outfit to that sits unused most of the time even though I have about $2000 tied up in it. Rarely I will need a custom bend for something but for what it cost me to set up and use, I could have paid the electrical contractor in town to do the bending for me much cheaper and faster. That's also your third option too. Most any big commercial electrical contractor has this equipment and will do shop work like this for a reasonable fee.

I have one of the ten ton versions and I am satisfied with it for the occasional pipe bending that it do. True the radius can not be too tight but the unit performs satisfactorily on schedule 40. I loaned the unit to a friend to make a chassis for a horseless carraige and he too was satisfied with its performance and has since borrowed it a second time to make some nerf bars. I also used it to straighten a disc axle that I snagged on a stump. That single effort was worth the price of the device

In a word, DANGEROUS JUNK, ok, 2 words. The castings are too cheap a grade of iron for the pressure. It's a Chink ripoff of an old Greenlee design for bending conduit.
