It's taking a really long time but I feel like I can finally see the lite at the end of the tunnel. Check out the latest pictures. I'n hoping to get in the air early spring.

I vaguely remember your first post about the fire, so forgive me if you already mentioned this but:

1). Did you build it yourself? If so, was it kit or scratch? How many hours did you invest?

2). What powerplant does it have?

I'm very interested in doing a homebuilt myself, but don't have a place to do it right now. I like the Zenith line; the Zodiac 601 with a Corvair engine (like they just showcased in Kit Planes) would probably be my choice if I could start building tommorrow.

Yes I built it myself. Actually my father and I started it. My father passed away in the middle of the build. This was our second plane. I finished it after a few years of it laying around not getting worked on. I brought it to the airport and the hanger was involved in a fire. It is one of the most popular kits available. It's an RV-6 by Vans aircraft. I have untold hours in it probably way over 4000. I built it and rebuilt it because of the fire. It's got a lycoming O-360, 180 hp engine. I was one of the naysayers who said the aluminum's temper had to have been damaged and cited something from (I think) AC 43.13. I'm glad you were able to locate a firm to do the proper NDT hardness testing on the skins and prove it to be OK. Glad to see it coming along so well.

A fellow tractor fiend friend of mine is getting close to completing his RV-6 too. Very nice kit. I was really impressed with it and hope to get a ride in it some day soon.

No, it was all ready to fly. I was awaiting the paperwork to go through. I was taxing it up a down the runway and itching to get in the air. Then I got the call.

I see it says "Experimantal" on the side. Did you do the original build or is it a production plane
