No spark at the plug.

How do I tell whether it is the Capacitive discharge module or the coil that is bad? C.D.M. is $75, Coil is $50 so just changing parts is not an option.

Thanks!

Many small engines such as this have an "ignition lifetime warranty" I know my 22 year old Husky chainsaw does. Probably only good to the original owner.

How old is it.

I know the late model chain saws only run for a preset # of hours before they shut down, and require authorised service to get em running again.

It's so they can't be run with a dirty air filter and polute.
