Hi,
I am think about buying a used 6k bushel bin from my parents neighbor. It is about 150 miles away so I am definitly going to have to take it apart to move it. I have a 30 ft gooseneck trailer so im not concerned about the actual move, im just wondering about taking it down. My nieghbor were i lived just put up a grian bin so i glanced at how they made bin jacks, seems simple. I was just if anyone in the western Iowa area is selling/renting any bin jacks. I was also wondering what an average price for a 6k bushel bin costs without drying floor and how much a drying floor for 21.5 diameter is. Thanks a bunch.

Have moved several using a for hire Boom Truck. Get a 10:00 x 20:00 mounted and aired up Truck Tire on a Budd rim, chain it up with a 4 point suspension , drop the Cable down thru the Roof fill Hole, Attach to 4 point Suspension and Winch away.We cabled them to the back of the Boom Truck and traveled the Road for several miles to the new bin site. This would work to disassemble one also. Very unlikely you will be able to rent for the Liability part involved.Building Jacks would not be cost effective for a one time use and if not built properly would be destructive. Once removed the Bin Bolt Sealant is not effective for reuse and Lap Sealant will have to be replaced. New bin Bolts and Sealant are a must.To diasassemble the Roof set the last horizontal Ring on the Pad with Roof attached and disassemble the Roof and then the last Ring.

It might be cheaper to crane it down and back up. Just get about 6 of your "buddys" and a big box of beer and crane it down, about two hours you can have the side sheets off and the roof you can do without the crane.

Wouldn't think you'd pay $1000 for the bin, more like $600. chris
