Put your question up over on this board.

Real helpful group of people. Helped me get a manual for my Hobart G-3010 gas engine drive. They cover any welder out there.

Check all wire conections if not try to adjust the voltage the curent (dc straight DC reverse etc)on older millers if these were not adjusted frequently the welder would hit a flat spot and not weld.

Our Big Blue 251D did that about 2 years ago and it ended up being a wire off. It was a small wire in the wiring harness up by the bell housing. We also have a Big 40, but we never had that problem. I'm not sure about the big 40, but I know the Big Blue 251D has fuses that could blow and make it not weld.

Do the outlets work? Did you cross the terminals at the bulkhead to see if it sparked?

All I can offer is to check the wires, someone else should be able to tell you more about troubleshooting. It's kinda funny, I've been welding for over 20 years but don't know much about troubleshooting them. Doug N
