I'd like to rebuild an old steel wagon. The wheels are heavy duty with tires about 5 in. wide. Problem is the spokes and tires are about rusted through where it sat in the dirt.Does anyone know a good way to repair them?

if you are handy at metal work, you can get some old car rims close to what you have, and either cut a section out and weld it to the bad rim, or if they are spoke wheels, cut the center hub out of the donor wheel, and then tranfer the hub from the spoke wheel to the donor outside. find the diameter of the spokes, ie-1/2 inch rod, and get cold rolled steel rounds and fabricate new spokes. re lace the wheel and then true it up.

Steel fabrication shop aways from here will roll up to 1/4"thick by?? flat rings(like barrel hoops)for a price...Elsewise if the metal"tires" need replacing...maybe"slices" off a large pipe?
What diameter are your wheels?
