DC motor repair

I have a small (1"dia.) 12v DC motor that quit. Any advice on checking and repairing?

Not much help here but you can check it with an ohm meter by reading between the leads. You should get some sort of reading. An "open" reading means that either the leads or the windings have opened. Most DC motors use brushes that can fail after time making for an "open" reading on the ohm meter. Brushes can also short and burn the motor windings or pop fuses.

Given the size of this motor, I think you should be able to get a replacement relatively cheap at any good electronics store unless it is for some specific duty or application.
