I,ve been eyeballing the 6hp Campbell-Hausfeld gas powered washers for sale at Wallyworld for $299. Does anyone have an experience/opinion on their quality?

I agree with the other posters. I would stay away from the Tecumseh engine. The Briggs and Stratton or Honda engine will give you better years of service. I just bought a Honda powered 5HP pressure washer from Northern Hydraulics for $399. The extra $100 for the better quality will pay off several times.

Big Jim - Why did you go to Northern Hydraulics? Do they have better equipment? Are you familiar with the Troy Built pressure washers they sell at Lowes?

RE: Northern Hydraulics pressure washers - watch out! The pump has plastic seals - and the cost to get it rebuilt is about $125.00 or more and the rebuild kit has metal seals!

K'archer's are only going to use their own attachments! - nothing generic goes on those!

Not trying to start a fight , but you guys can say what you want about Tecumseh engines but I think they are ok .

Used my generator a couple of weeks ago . It has a 10 hp Tecumseh engine . I had not run it in a year and a half . I turned on the gas , set the choke and she started on the first pull like it always has .

Then again , given the choice , Briggs is still the best .

Bud, It may be OK but sounds a little too cheap for decent quality. Roy Padgent's place in Indiana is the cheapest place to buy engines, washers etc. Northern Hydraulic buys from him. Here is a llnk to his web site

What brand of engine is on it? If it a Tacomseh, I wouldn't touch it. I got one and it's a piece of junk. Very hard to start, lots of carb problems. Briggs and Honda make better engines. Next power washer I buy will be electric.

You might want to stay away from Tecumseh, too. :)

Don't switch to electric. I've never seen an affordable one that was as powerful as any gas model.
