Plugging Mirror Holes In Truck Doors

My '88 Chevy 3500 is in very good condition. While they work well, I would like to remove the big towing mirrors and install some smaller factory ones. Does someone make plugs for the 3 holes in each door? I do not want to weld the holes shut and do the necessary body work/repainting as I may want to put the mirrors back on again sometime.

Snap in plugs are used in electronic items,some are chromed.These plugs are used so adjustments can be made without taking the cabinet off the item.WHY

Try some of those plugs they make for Electrical Panels. I have some out in the shop about 1/2" Dia. Some of them are small and might have a neat look when installed as Hole Plugs in your Door. You could paint them prior to installing them.

I'm assuming this is a working truck and not a show truck. A simple option would be to put round headed bolts of some sort in the holes and use a little touch-up paint to paint the heads the same color as the background. Shouldn't look too bad.

Also Loews and Home Depot, in plastic, black or white and in metal, chrome.

Yes , plugs are available at some of the older auto parts stores or go online to autobody supplies & do a search .My brother in law had it done to the prestine 87 Bronco that he bought from my parents estate . Good luck & God bless, Ken
