Hey evielboweviel & J.C. IN AZ. -

I finally got that planer home at least its on my trailer and strapped down for the ride to WV. Were in the process of bailing out of NC.
The first good look I got at it was after Id taken the lifting straps off of it on the trailer. After looking over the manual I ordered, it DID have a DC motor on it. The "1/6 HP DC gear motor" for the feed speed control has been replaced with the rig you see in the pics in photo bucket. If it works like this Ill probably wait a while before I replace it with an OEM gear motor. That puppy probably aint cheap! Then again, that angle drive he installed might have cost more than the DC gear motor! At a glance, the gear motor and a shorter belt are about all Ill need to change. Sounds way too simple doesnt it? It has an extra set of knives and what appears to be a molding arbor.
I dont know what Im gonna do with it, but all in all, it still looks like its WELL worth trading about a hundred dollars of material for! I still do some carpentry work and I used to build custom cabinets so Ill probably find a way to play with this critter.

I've seen some more examples of the work the previous owner did - he'd build his own rigs instead of fixing anything properly. I admire his ingenuity but soon or later jury rigging power tools and stuff like this is gonna bite you!

Better hide it as a lot of people know where Cool Ridge is If it is like my stuff . They will steal it and scrap to support their habits . If you want some one to watch it for you I live in Huntington would take good care of it .

Sorry it took so long to answer - we've been moving! It's tucked into my shop waiting until I can rig it off the trailer. I'm not gonna advertize where I am and the ex-Law Dawg guy who's now a judge is a neighbor and friend.
I do appreciate you offering to take care of it, though!

Bud, if you feel like driving a bit further than Beckley, I'm sure I can swap you a hundred bucks wortha goodies from my shop for that unit... I even have a chain hoist (or tractor!) to lift it off your trailer!

Thanks for the offer, but Wood Master has this same machine on sale right now for $2300. I'll bet I can get that DC gear motor for less than that. This on will be stopping in Cool Ridge.
