Hydrulic pump

I took a hydrulic pump off an old plow set up(belt driven) and put it on my farmall A but it will not lift the plow very fast. What would I need to make it lift faster a smaller pully on the pump or a larger pully?

To turn the pump faster, you need either a larger pulley on the driving end (the engine) or a smaller pulley on the pump, or both.

Keeping in mind that your tractor tuns much slower at max rpm,than the truck engine originally did,you do not want to overspeed the pump either.If possible you should determine the pumps design speed range and then plot pulley sizes to get it in that range.
