Either I have my brake controller wired incorrectly or I have a bad controller. I have brake lites and turn signals on the trailer and I have brakes when I activate them manually on the controller ( a reese brakeman), but don't have any brakes when stepping on the pedal.

anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks Tim

thanks for the suggestions, but I found a wiring diagram for the controller on another site. I had the green feed wire from the truck's harness hooked to the wrong wire. It's all working now.

Don"t have a Reese but on my electronic controller, the brake light switch activates the brakecontroller. Check that out.

I don't know that particular brake controller.

However almost all of the current controllers have two adjusments. One for the total braking, and another for the pendulim. If the pendulim is out of adjustment you won't have any braking. Or you could have full brake when the brake lights come on.

The trailer lights and brakes come from two different fuses. Check that you have a good fuse for the brakes.

I just went out and checked both under the dash fuses and under the hood fuses for everything that was marked trailer controller. All looks good. Do you know which numbers I should be checking? Any other suggestions?

Thanks Tim
