I am looking at buying either a new holland model 269 or 273. Both bailers are in good shape. does anyone think either model would be better than the other. Thanks jeff

I'm in Eastern WA state. Where are you? I have a NH 316 for sale, which is a pretty good baler also. bjr

Was told by a New Holland baler mechanic with years of experience that the 273 was one of the best balers NH ever made. I ran one for years , baled 10's of thousands of bales. good machine. Ray

We bought a new, New Holland 276 Hayliner to replace our old 24T deere baler. Packed thousands of bales every year with very little trouble. 2 years before the sellout we traded the 276 on a Deere 336 in nice shape, but it still wasn't as good as the old 276.

We own a 273 and our neighbour owns a 270. The twine is in a way more convienent place on the 273 and the 273 is newer. His misses quite a few more bales but that's just because his is really worn out.Over all on ours if it's not tensioned to tight ours won't miss very many maybe 1 in 500 or less.If their in the same shape for the same price i would buy the 273 but it's your choice. If the 269 s in better shape then your best bet would be to buy the 269 cause both are reliable.
