Honda EB6500 no start help

I picked up a Honda EB6500 that had sat for approx. a year. I changed out the gas,cleaned the screens,replaced spark plug/it does have spark, checked oil level,cleaned carb. out including the main jet & it won't run.
It did run after the clean up for aprox 10 sec. & died & won't restart.
There is a fuel solenoid on the bottom of the fuel bowl w/ wires on it, It was gummed up & i tried to clean it up,but I am not sure what it does???
Also it has a starter, but no battery or harness for battery connections, Is it possible to hook one up to it??

Also looking for info/internet sites w/ pictures of this unit.

I stand corrected on the RV thing, but if you look here, you'll see how a battery mounts.

straight 30 weight on the oil. Honda made many different generators for certain uses, your was probably an RV generator, they figured it would use the battery from the RV. I'm sure the dealer can set you up with a manual, or watch eBay.

been a while since i foooled with one of those. that solenoid was to shut off the gas when the engine was off, that big 5 gallon tank would drain through the carb into the oil when it was being transported in a pickup. it must open when the engine is being spun over, take it out, ground it, and try a few pulls. take out the plug for easier pulling.
sure seems to me you have a fuel problem....are you certain the fuel cock on the tank is open? might also be on the carb, near the choke lever. if it'll hit on a whiff of ether, you for sure have fuel trouble.

I got it running. Not sure if I had it flooded or what. Waited 4-5 hours & she comes to life.
Not sure how the choke lever hooks to the carb. to set the choke, but it's in the mid 90's here so choke isn't needed today.
I would like to find a site on the net that shows parts blow ups for this generator & also hook it to battery for electric start. Any ideas where I could find some info???
Also what type of oil should I use in it?? I changed it to Rotella diesel type 15/40 since I think I had it flooded. Also need to set the valves as it shoulds alittle loose.
