I have a worn out old grinding wheel for sharpening blades on a sickle bar mower. It has a larger diameter center which enables you to sharpen one side of two blades at the same time. Does any one know where a new one could be purchased. Nobody seems to use these any more. Thanks,

This stone is too big for my grinder. Maybe it will fit yours. See my post at Tractor Talk

I use a 4 inch hand grinder to sharpen mine. Move sickle to one side and sharpen and then move to end of travel the other direction and sharpen other side. Chris

The 4 inch hand grinder is the best way to sharpen a sickle knife.I clamp it to my welding bench and sharpen.Ive used all types of grinders over the years. You can see the ground suface and get the bevel right when you use a hand grinder.

I think I have an extra one . I don't use my mower anymore but for sentimental reasons ( it was Dads ) . I'll check it out . You can email me at [email protected] . God bless, Ken
