Just curious, what are you paying to have a 20 Lb BBQ size tank filled and or a 30 Lb forklift size tank filled, I'm paying $20 for 20lb & $30 for $30lb. right now. Forklift size used to be $20, my 850 ford runs off these and I'm thinking the nearby Agway with the fill station is too high, might be able to get a little better deal. Mowing season, I use more fuel this time of year, I'd imagine a nurse tank and being able to fill my own would be the lowest cost scenario, not sure if I'd want to go that route though.

My welding supply house also fills compressed gases, including LPG tanks, same place where I go my tanks, they have 40 lb tanks available, give me a little more run time and would fit on the tractor, little heavier to heft up onto the hood though. Have to check some options here.

We have a propane station here in the West Michigan area that has "Super Saturday" every 3rd Saturday of the month. They fill a 20# tank for $7.00 flat including tax. Limit 2 cylinders per customer. Some days that line is pretty long.

They also sell bottled water at discount that day as well. I think it's a loss-leader to get you in and hope that you will buy something else.

The Flying J down the street gets $2.19/gallon, so a 20 lb. tank (4.3gallons) is about $9.42 +tax. A 100 lb. tank is around $53.

We have a filling station at work. We get .65 a pound which works out to $13 for a 20 lb tank. Most forklift tanks are 33.5 lb in my experience so thats 21.77 for them or 19.50 if only a 30 lb tank. This is central NY.

$21 for a 30lb forklift tank several months ago (May ?) in MA.

Everything is negotiable. Tell the seller you want a better price. You will probably get it. Open an account at a welding supply store. They will classify your account and put you on a rate schedule. You won't have to ask again.
