Looking at taps and dies on eBay I saw a nice looking set by Michigan Industrial Tools. A Google search of that brand reveals nothing about them except that they make a zillion products which are sold through discount retailers. That means they're Chinese made, right? Anyone know anything about this brand?

The search for the free lunch/too good to be true, but true anyway, item goes on.

I have several tools of that brand, they have held up well considering the price. I would not consider a set of taps and dies from them however. They are cheapies for sure!

I don't know about their taps, but I've got a set of impact sockets that I've beat the crap out of for the past 6 years and have been OK.

They are your typical Taiwanese/Chinese fare. I would skip them and purchase taps and dies from an established American brand.
