Hey Roger, I"m still having trouble with my 325.I installed a check valve in the tank, but it still sounds like it"s missing when it"s running. When it does this thing, it makes the popoff valve on top of the head flutter.I cleaned the valves in the head, and sanded them.I do have 1 leak still, it"s the right rear valve cover, it only leaks when it"s running, since I have a check valve now.Is this possible to be the problem? I don"t think the valves are bad, but I don"t know. The air compressor guy here told me that sometime it takes a while for the valves to seat after they"ve been cleaned? Is this true? Thanks for all the help in the past, and all the help in the future??

Gasket leaks won't cause the valve to flutter. The HP exhaust valve, or intake valve is not sealing. It does sometimes take a short bit of running in to seat new valves completely, but they should never leak enough to cause safety valves to trip. The safety valve in the head should be about 50-60 psi. Interstage pressure should never get that high. Take out your HP valves, and check to see if there is any side to side play. Sometimes the valve bodies will wear, and instead of the plate going straight up and down, they can wander off to the side a little. This will sometimes leave a small sliver of the air passage uncovered, which will let air back through the valve after it should be closed. I fought this for a couple of hours one day on a 216 until I found the problem. A new valve solved it immediately.
