Been debating with myself on this one. Mrs. ShepFL asked me what gift for Father's Day.

Which do you prefer and why?
Thanks!

PS - also told her I need a 6V / 12V heavy duty shop battery charger. . . we will see if I have been a good boy :)

If its not an old operated air grease gun out of a service station, buy the cordless(hands down) or if you come up to Indiana, I'll give you a pneumatic gun. I never use it.Its like new.Spent about 50 bucks on it. What a waste of good money.

Hello Mrs. Shep,
I have two of the Lincoln 12 volt grease guns and thus far I have been very happy with them. They seem to work very well and actually makes greasing fun. You can get 110 volt chargers or 12 volt chargers. I have both and they are handy. Ebay is a good place to look at them. I think your husband would be very happy with one.

Good luck,
Dick

I recently got a Pnuematic version. So far I'm very happy with it. I thought I would like to have on long before I bought it. Working on an old Chevy C60 with a dump bed put me over the edge. Lots of grease zerks on that thing. Now I wish that I had not waited so long.

How much grease'n do you do? Keep it simple with a hand operated unless you have a boat load of grease'n to do. If you grease a lot of fittings then do you haver an air supply near by? Go with air if at all possible.

If you told her you wanted a charger you had better tell her EXACTLY which one or be prepared to get one you can't use.

I have a couple of machines where a full greasing can consume 3-4 tubes of grease, and my hands cant stand that much manual pumping. I got a Lincoln air powered gun and powered it in the field with a gas engine powered compressor. Used it for years and liked it except for draging that durn snag prone hose on and around the machine. When Harbor freight offered The little 12V guns for $50, that convinced me to try one, because in my mind I could not quite justify $175 for a 12V Lincoln. The thing has worked fine for two years now and has pumped around 75 tubes of grease. Comes with a 1 hr charger and two batterys that will pump 2-1/2-3 tubes of grease per bat per charge. I love the portability and ease of operating the thing.
