Is it worth $200?

A fellow has Jeager model 60 towable air compressor for sale for $200. It appears complete. The engine is 4 cyl Continental flat head, turns over easy with a crank. He says it's a 75 cfm machine and hasn't been used in 3-4 years since he upgraded to a larger size. The sheet metal is clean with no dents or rust but there's no fenders because the original straight axle has been replaced with a longer car rear end axle.

The plate on the air receiver says 125psi, dated 1947. There's a rust bubble at the corner of the plate so I'm concerned about the integrity of the tank. It won't be easy to duplicate the square connection to the 3 cylinder compressor. Is it really 75 cfm or actually 60 cfm? All comments welcome.

He says $200, you go a hundred bucks and meet him half way. That way you have 'bought' it. Don't fork over any cash until AFTER you try to mess with it and start it on site. Then do the starting. If it runs you pay up. If a MAJOR problem rears its head and he had not disclosed it you can renig with a solid ground to stand on. Otherwise go for it $100-200 for a trailered compressor is a good deal.

I doubt if he's going to spend any time, energy or money for fresh gas. I asked if it would be OK to squirt some WD40 on the coupler latch as it is hard to open. He said I can do what I want after I buy it.
