I would question where your Dewalt is made... In the second to last sentence of this paragraph lifted directly from the Ridgid website document pertaining to the LSA. It states as I read it that the tools are covered for the liftime of the original owner. I have dropped them, used them, and abused them, and have yet to have any issues regarding performance of the tools. Emerson tool was the mfg of the older Sears tools that built the power tool reputation that Sears destroyed in the 1980's-90's. Ridgid is a solid company that I feel will back the tools that they sell if there are any issues along the way. WHAT IS COVERED UNDER THE LIFETIME SERVICE AGREEMENT: The Lifetime Service Agreement on RIDGID� Hand Held Power Tools, Stationary Power Tools and Pneumatic Tools covers all worn parts in properly maintained tools, including normal wear items such as brushes, chucks, motors, switches, gears and even cordless batteries in your qualifying RIDGID�Brand hand held and stationary power tools; and replacement rings, driver blades and bumpers on RIDGID� Brand pneumatic tools for the lifetime of the original owner. This Lifetime Service Agreement does not apply to other RIDGID� Brand products.
