My compresser pressures up just fine, but as soon as I turn my 30k metal cutter on, after about2-3 seconds, the pressure to the tool drops and the cutting wheel slows down to an unusable speed. Should I replace my pressure switch? Thanks

Are you running the air line through the regulator? Regulators will not pass enough air for tools. The holes in the regulator are very small. For air tools you need to come straight out of the tank.

I agree, regulator, hose, quick disconnect, or valve. If it only takes a couple of seconds, something is pluged up. At work guys take the foam ear plugs and roll them up and stuff then in the nipple of an air hose. You plug up the hose and the tool runs fine for a couple of seconds then quits. Wait a minute, it works again for a couple of seconds, then winds down. Cute trick.

What do other air tools do? Plug up an impact, etc and run it. Does it quit quickly too? Try other hoses, or eliminate the regulator.

It sound like your compressor does not have enough volume to handle the cuttor or the line is too small. That is a small tank or operating higher volume air tools.
The SCFM requirements of to cutter and the SCFM capacity of the compressor at the tool operating pressure is needed.
It is not the pressure switch if it only takes 2-3 seconds for the tool to slow. You just don't have enough air.

What is the CFM of the tool that you are using? It sound like you may have a delivery issue (to small regulator / hose).
