I have an old safe that belonged to my Dad, but the combination has been lost. Is there a way to open it without destroying it? I know how this may sound to some of you, but it's the truth. I can remember opening it a long time ago and there is nothing in it but air.

Friend had an old safe at his hunting camp. An old locksmith told him to turn it upside down and wack it with a 2x4 several times. It worked on his. Something about the tumblers in the old safes are only held in place by gravity. Good luck! joe in ny

A good locksmith can get it open. There are many that advertise "safe repair and service". I know there is a old guy close to me that works on them. When I moved mine once, it jammed the tumblers and he fixed it. i would not do anything to mess it up, safes have went up in value lately. I remember seeing them sell at farm sales cheap years ago. Now they bring top dollar....just like anvils.

Call or take it to a locksmith.
