I have a new set of Turf tires for my Allis WD45, and they aren't cheap. Anyway, I will be having the tractor sit outdoors most of the year and would like to put something on the tires to protect them from an early death due to dry rot. I am no fan of Armorall, so is there something else any of you can recommend, and have had good luck with??? Thanks in advance...

This Post is not concerning a Tractor however the same storage principles apply. Living in Arizona, For the Summer we cover our 5th wheel 35' Jayco Trailer with a full Cover we got at Camping World made from Tyvek and White Acrylic I believe is the part that covers the Nose and Roof. Put the Trailer off the Tires on Jack Stands, Wash and Armorall the Tires, Let the air pressure down to 50 Lb's. Install White Tire Gard Covers and it is ready for a summer of 100'plus. We have no Roofed Storage for it and this is how we protect our RV when not in use. We do not travel in the Summer any more but limit our Travel to the South West for Trips from Oct-May.

The local tire guy told me RV"s and campers etc. should be parked on concrete, wood blocks, or stones not dirt. He said he changes lots of tires because the constant moisture or something rots the tires from dirt. Cover them if you can. Gus

if you really really have to stick the dang thing outdoors, then set it on the driveway and wrap a canvas tarp around it!! No tire protector B.S.!!

Not real sure as to how much"protection" such things really provide. Most seem to be geared more toward shiny/pretty than rubber preservation.
As I understand it,it is the sunlight/heat that leaches chemicals out of the rubber compounds,so a physical cover makes more sense to me than a temporary at best surface coating.I see lots of off season campers/RVs with canvas covers over the tires.....so mebbee thats the way to go,or tarping or making a cover for the whole tractor?
