Went to change my RAS from cross cut to rip, and the lock won't release. The lever hits the bell shaped release, but no go. The swivel base moves ever so slightly, I don't believe it is stuck. My bifocals have messed up my xray vision..... ....

Raise the blade clear, tap on the bell with your hand or a small wooden hammer handle. Note: TAP while holding the lever against the bell.
After it pops loose, clean up the mechanism with air and a little cleaner, not oil.
Mine has done the same thing about twice, but it is good as new now.

Did you raise the blade up out of the crosscut kerf?
