O/T Battery connection on boat

I have a 94 Prince Craft model 167. The heavy battery cables are easily connected to the proper terminals. There are three smaller wires that are probably 12 gauge. The one with the fuse in it obviously goes onto the positive terminal also. I don't remember if one of the other two goes on the neg. terminal or not. I had all three smaller wires on the pos. terminal and it was charging at over 15 volts, which is higher than before. I just can not remember and did not find my manual this morning. Thank you.

You only have three? Most batteries I see on a fishing boat have about twelve. The only way to sort them out is to play with a multi-meter until you determine which ones go where. This is more easily said than done when you are crouched down under an overhanging door, but that's what you do.

Go to MarineEngine.com and use their discussion board giving year and model of boat and engine. Most likely someone there can provide the info you need and answer any other questions you might have about the motor. Don't get scared off the sight when you see it the first time. Yes it is a linked sight for motor parts. Just look for the little symbol for the discussion forum. Doesn't cost anything to register and there is a world of info there. Who knows, maybe you have something to share that will help someone else. Then isn't that the real purpose of all these Discussion Forums? Share the knowledge you have and learn what others know?
