I have a Delta electric pressure washer model DT1600E. The part of the pump that the pressure hose screws into has a small hairline crack in it, allowing the pressure to drop constantly, causing a surging in pressure. I have tried J-
B Weld on it, but it just blows off the area. I also called Delta and talked to the parts department, but it is obsolete, and they do not have any old stock laying around. Any ideas on how to fix it, short of welding it. It appears to be pot metal, and I do not have a welder or the special rods it takes to weld pot metal. Thanks in advance.

Thanks. The Delta parts sheet showed the entire pump, so I looked around on other parts sheets, since they were all made by the same company. The part is on the page for the Artika pump, listed as a TSS Assembly. $83.34 after shipping. I"m going to try the hose clamp route, if that doen"t work, I"ll buy the part. Sorry for the late reply, I"m usually only on the internet on the weekends.

go to this url (www.pressureparts.com/OwnersManualsAR.aspx)and look down the list for Extreme(Delta).

There are parts listed that look very similar to the Delta, motor, pump all look the same.

The part you need is a goose neck but it may work.
for 6 or 7 Bucks its worth a try.

They show this part as being in stock.

The motor and pump look like they were made by Annovi Reverberi.

Land70,
Is there enough material in that area that it could be drilled and tapped from another angle, say from the side, and use machine screws to tighten the crack? Maybe a worm style clamp around that area? How about a threaded bushing coated with J&B or Permatex "metal repair" and allowed to dry then use adapters to size up to the required size for your hose? Good Luck, jackie

I have a 1600E also. On mine the green rocker switch is broken. I can't find the replacement. Would you be interested in selling me that switch? It sounds like your washer is toast/too expensive to fix. Mine works great other than the switch.

Hi

Just wondering if the unloader valve can be removed to be replaced or all part of the discharge manifold. If it can be removed just get a new unloader valve for it,if its all one piece then it a little harder to get one for it.To get a new unloader valve for it you need to know your pressure of the machine get one that is higher pressure then what you have and how many gallon of water a minute it pumps witch will be GPM. Get the right numbers of outlet to hook you plumbing back to,and if there are to many outlets they will have extra plugs with it. I think you can get them at grainer.if you need more info e-mail me.

Find the name of the pump manufactor (it should be on a tag affixed to the pump) and contact them. What you need is the unloader. However, if your unit has any age at all on it, the cost will probably more than it's worth.

Thanks. I"ll look on the pump. I was just assuming that Delta would have had it. I didn"t stop to think that they might have outsourced it, and another company made the pump.

Most, if not all, pressure washer mfgs outsource their pumps, i.e. CAT, Annovi Reverberi, etc. If you live in a location where the winters drop below freezing, the pump probably froze, resulting in it cracking. The way to avoid that in the future is to winterizing the pump by either pumping antifreeze through it or by the use of a "Pump Saver" (cost around $5 from Lowe's, Home Depot, or Sears) before putting it away for the winter and never leave it outside, even for a short period of time, without the aforementioned measures.

Well, I checked, and the part is just plain obsolete, they don"t have spare parts either. Grainger"s isn"t an option, I just don"t want to pay $300 or more for a new valve, I can get a new pressure washer for less. I bought it used for $50, and it worked for about 10 minutes, before the repair they had done on the crack gave out. The J-B Weld I tried didn"t last any longer. It just looks like this pressure washer is just going to sit around until I can find another one like it and use it for parts if need be, or until I get tired and throw it away.
